The election is only weeks away and Screven Forward has seen a flurry of activity!!  We have been joined by Katarina Flicker of the Democratic Party of Georgia and she has partnered with us in projects geared toward voter engagement, registration and participation. Katarina held virtual training sessions for Screven Forward members on Zoom showing us how to use THRU TEXT, an outreach via texts designed by the Democratic Party of Georgia.  Our program was specifically designed to reach out to Screven Co. voters. Biden/Harris yard signs have been promised from the Democratic Party of Georgia.

Screven Forward held two in person voter registration drives in September.  On September 19th we set up two locations in the Bi-Lo shopping center and on September 26th we were in front of Moats Supermarket downtown.  One more will be held on October 3rd, also in front of Moats.  This one will be just before the deadline of October 5, the last date to register to be able to vote in the November election.

 

Nearly two dozen individuals were registered in September!!  We gave out Screven Forward  racelets, koozies and cards with important voting dates at these events and had Screven Forward tee shirts for sale.     
 

We completed another postcard campaign, sending out over 900 postcards to Screven County voters in the 19 to 34 age group, urging them to VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!

We also began our most ambitious postcard campaign this month.  Thanks to a faithful member who printed out 2000 pre-printed, pre-addressed postcards, we only have to add a short personal message, stamp and mail!  A number of our members volunteered to help with this project.

Screven Forward purchased a billboard for the month of October.  Our beautiful, BLUE, BIDEN/HARRIS billboard can be seen on Hwy. 301 South, just past and across from Neighbor's. CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!

The Screven County Drop Box has been put in place behind the courthouse and early absentee voting has begun.  So glad to have this safe and convenient way to cast our ballots!

Screven Forward will host a virtual HAPPY HOUR event on October 8th. It will begin at 5:30, but you can join in whenever you can. At this event we will share and discuss the things that are pressing and important to us.  PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR AND BE SURE TO JOIN US!!
